WEDA Collection, 1871-1955 (bulk 1886-1953).

The collection contains administrative material, scrapbooks and photographs, 1871-1955. It is not clear whether the Club continued its activites after 1955. The administrative material consists of lists of members; scrapbooks of correspondence and bills, with a few notes on the protocol of dinners; a Report of the Secretary dated 1871, by William D. Robinson, and a copy of the published Report of the Secretary for 1902, prepared by Henry S. Hoyt. Scrapbooks contain menus for the monthly dinners, with cost, location, and lists of members attending. The dinners were held at New York clubs such as the Knickerbocker Club, the Union League Club, the Metropolitan Club, and the New York Yacht Club. Photographs are all formal individual portraits of Weda members, some with indications that they were to be used for a 1929 members book.
